Cape Cod Surftones to Kick Off

Summer Breeze Concert Series

 

St. John’s Episcopal Church of Sandwich to Sponsor and Host Four Week Musical Event

 

June 24th, 2019 – The Cape Cod Surftones, Cape Cod’s award-winning male barbershop chorus, will appear as the opening event in the Summer Breeze Concert Series sponsored and hosted by the St. John’s Episcopal Church of Sandwich MA.  Summer Breeze begins on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 7 PM with an evening of traditional, doo-wop and American song book selections sung in the close four-part harmony acapella style that is uniquely barbershop.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting new concert event that will enhance the summer performing arts experience on Cape Cod,” said Don Taylor, musical director of the Cape Cod Surftones.  “It is a real honor for us to open the series and bring our special barbershop sound to Cape Cod residents and visitors.

John Harrington, Summer Breeze event chairman, expressed his enthusiasm for the concert series kick-off event.  “We can’t think of a better group than the Cape Cod Surftones to launch Summer Breeze. They have a great following across the Cape should be thoroughly entertaining,” John added.

All Summer Breeze concerts will occur at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sandwich (159 Main Street, Sandwich MA 508-888-2828) and will continue for the three following Tuesday Evenings (July 30, August 6th and August 13th) at 7 PM.  Tickets for the concerts are not required.  Donations will be accepted at the door.

About The Cape Cod Surftones:

The Cape Cod Surftones (www.capecodsurftones.com) is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  Founded in 1975, the Chorus rehearses most Monday nights, year-round, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Barnstable 3330 Main Street, Barnstable MA.  Come sing with us. No musical or choral experience is required.
