Since mid-2000, Don Taylor is the Director and musical leader of the Cape Cod Surftones. His up-beat personality and his knowledge of barbershop music have helped bring the Surftones to a much higher level of singing and performance.
For many years Taylor was lead singer with the barbershop quartet Yankee Ingenuity. He served 15 years as music director of the South Shore Men of Harmony in Hingham before joining the Surftones. Don has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 1978 and attended the Society’s first director’s college in 1990.
Don lives in Whitman, Massachusetts. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Banker by vocation and barbershop singer by avocation, he retired from banking in 2000 after 36 years. He continues singing and performing, has bought a boat, goes fishing (but doesn't catch anything), and is having a ball.
